The Mediven® Thrombexin 18 is a special thrombosis prophylaxis stocking developed for immobile patients before, during, and after surgery. The stocking has an even pressure gradient that supports venous blood flow and thus reduces the risk of thrombosis. Thanks to the high elasticity and the soft, skin-friendly material, the stocking offers optimal wearing comfort, even with prolonged use.

Material features
The Mediven® Thrombexin 18 is made from a soft, elastic, and latex-free material that allows for even pressure distribution. The stocking fits anatomically and feels comfortable on the skin. The fibers used are breathable and support long-lasting comfort for patients who are bedridden or have limited mobility.

Available variants
The Mediven® Thrombexin 18 is available in multiple versions to meet clinical needs:

  • Length size: suitable up to a thigh circumference of 100 cm

  • Foot section: closed toe with inspection opening

  • Model: available as a knee-high stocking or in combination with Struva 23

Colors and fit
The stocking has an anatomical fit with an intelligent silicone cuff that fits softly without slipping down. The design includes a color-coded heel for correct positioning and an antibacterial toe piece for optimal hygiene. The inspection opening on the sole allows quick checking of blood circulation.

Indications
The stocking is suitable for, among others:

  • Immobile patients pre-, peri-, and postoperatively

  • Immediate use before and after childbirth

  • Bedridden patients

  • Use as a knee-high stocking (for example in combination with Struva 23)

Function
The Mediven® Thrombexin 18 provides an even pressure gradient from distal to proximal. This increases both the speed and volume of venous return, helping to prevent thrombosis formation. The double-cross knitting technique ensures durability and wearing comfort.

Benefits

  • Anatomically knitted stocking with precisely defined pressure gradient

  • Easy to apply thanks to high elasticity

  • Comfortable due to soft materials

  • Inspection opening for quick check of blood circulation

  • Antibacterial toe piece to prevent fungal infections

  • Color-coded heel for correct fit

  • Soft silicone cuff that stays firmly in place

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which size is suitable for me?

For each product, you will find a size chart in the product description and next to the product images. This gives you an indication of the different dimensions.

Despite this information, you are advised to determine your size in consultation with your treating physician.

Please take into account the advice to order two different sizes. You are advised to order one garment in your size and one smaller than your current size. This is because you will swell immediately after the treatment, causing your ready-to-wear size to increase. During the healing process, the fluid decreases, reducing your circumference.

The worn clothing will then be too loose, resulting in less compression. This reduces the effectiveness. By wearing a smaller garment at that time, you will again benefit from compression in the correct zones.

What is the delivery time of the offer?

For orders from the Netherlands and Belgium, our standard range has a delivery time of 1 to 2 working days.

Some specific collections and custom-made products have a delivery time of 6-8 working days. The delivery times are stated in the product description for each product.

How are orders packaged?

The orders are packaged and shipped anonymously. Nothing on the outside of the packaging reveals the contents.
